2008 RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART ASPHALT TOUR GENERAL INFORMATION SHEET.

POINT DISTRIBUTION: Points will be awarded at each event as listed below. Drivers will earn 5 additional points for each heat win. These bonus points will be carried over to the tally entering the final championship events. Heat win points will also count in championship races toward the overall title. A 25 point bonus will be awarded to any team that competes in all of the events leading up to the final five championship events. No “lowest finish” point drops will be allotted in 2008. Point tallies below are reflected as 60 points for a regular season event and 100 points for a championship event.

POINT FUND: Two point funds will be paid out to the regular season top 10 drivers and the overall top 10 drivers. Drivers must attend the season ending banquet in order to be eligible for point fund money. There are no exceptions to this.

MEMBERSHIP: All drivers participating in a Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour event must have a paid membership on file. Crew participants may purchase a membership as well for discounted pit admission at regional events. All participants must have a membership to enter the pit area at nascar weekly tracks.

PROVISIONAL STARTING POSITIONS: Each driver in the top 10 in regular season points prior to event will be awarded 1 provisional start during the season. Driver must attempt to run heat and b-main to obtain spot. No provisional spots are available at the first event of each new season. However, a racetrack operator may choose to add “track” provisionals after b-main has been run. Top five in points are not locked into a guaranteed spot. Maximum two will be awarded per event.

DRIVER BUY IN PROGRAM: If a driver has used his/her 1 provisional starting spot they will have two “buy in” opportunities during the season schedule. At each race the top 10 drivers in points will have 2 opportunities to be added to the field. That driver must pay last place starting money to ensure that position after qualifying. Only two “buy in” drivers will be permitted at each event and will be based on placement in points from 1^st to 10^th place. The top 10 in overall points will also have that opportunity at championship events. 2007 top ten overall drivers may use this opportunity at first race of 2008.

58^TH ANNUAL SUNOCO R.O.C GUARANTEED STARTING SPOTS: All R.o.C qualifier winners will be awarded a lottery drawing opportunity for the final two starting spots in the 200 lap event should they fail to qualify. Past winners will be given guaranteed starting status based on number of past winners entered in the event. A maximum of two past winners will earn this status.
