REGIONAL RACE BREAKDOWN ANNOUNCED FOR RACE OF CHAMPIONS ASPHALT MODIFIED TOUR….MUFFLER RULE AMENDED

            Binghamton, NY ..The Race of Champions ( RoC ) Asphalt Modified Tour wanted to kind of shake things up regarding the Region and Combination races for the 2007 Tour. With 15 races slated for the 2007 Tour RoC Owner & Promoter Andy Harpell announced today the breakdown for the 2007 Tour.

            The magic number for the 2007 Tour is five. Meaning there will be five North & Central Region races along with five Combination events to determine the 2007 Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour champion.

            Harpell also announced a change in the 2007 Muffler Rule that was previously announced. After looking into the situation more and consulting with the RoC teams the Muffler Rule has been amended.

            The new 2007 Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour Muffler Rule is as follows. The Lobac Mufflers are mandatory at all North Region races in 2007 and mandatory at the July 6th Combination race at the Spencer Speedway. For the remaining nine races on the Tour the muffler that has been used previously at these tracks is still legal for use.

            The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour North Region 2007 sees the opener taking place on Saturday June 2nd at the Chemung Speedrome. Race two of the North Region is Sunday June 17th at the Wyoming County International Speedway with race three taking place on Saturday June 30th at the Lancaster Motorsports Park. Wyoming County will host race four of the North Region on Sunday July 15th and the final North Region race will take place on Friday August 31st at the Oswego Speedway.

            The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour Central Region opens up on Sunday May 13th at the Oswego Speedway. The Mahoning Valley Speedway will host race two of the Region on Saturday June 9th. Race three of the Central Region takes place on Saturday June 23rd at the Wall Township Speedway. Oswego hosts race four of the Region on Saturday July 21st with the final Central Region race taking place at Mahoning Valley on Saturday August 18th.

            The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour Combination race sees the opener taking place on Saturday May 26th at the Oswego Speedway. The Spencer Speedway will host race Combination race two on Friday July 6th with the Thompson Speedway hosting race three on Sunday September 9th. The fourth race is the 57th Sunoco Race of Champions that takes place at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday September 22nd. The final RoC Combination race will take place at the Lancaster Motorsports Park on Saturday September 29th.
