UNIQUE RACE OF CHAMPIONS DOUBLE HEADER TO OCCUR ON MOTHERS DAY, MAY 13TH AT OSWEGO SPEEDWAY AND UTICA ROME SPEEDWAY.

BINGHAMTON, NY...A unique Race of Champions Motorsports double header will give northeast race fans a great opportunity to see the best in both asphalt and dirt track racing on the same afternoon.  On Mothers Day (Sunday, May 13th) the Race of Champions Asphalt and Dirt Modified Tours will be in action at two of the premier facilities in short track racing.

The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour will start off the exciting double header at 2 p.m. at the Oswego Speedway with the tour opener.  The Central region 75 lap event should see a stellar field of the top asphalt Modified campaigners in competition.  For Oswego Speedway the day will also serve as their 57th Coca Cola Season Opener.  The Small Block Super Modifieds and Super Modifieds will also be in action in what should be a fantastic day of open wheel excitement at the "steel palace".

At 5:30 p.m. Gene Coles impressive Utica Rome Speedway will play host to the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour.  The North Norwich Motors 75 lap event will serve as a North region point race and will feature all of the top stars of the R.o.C Dirt Tour.  The program will start off with the R.o.C Dirt Guaranteed Starters race for all of the teams that failed to qualify at the tour opener at Fonda Speedway back on April 14th.  The Modified qualifying heats will take place later in the program to allow for race fans that want to pull "the double" from Oswego Speedway.

For race fans this could play out to be a special day in open wheel short track racing.  Both R.o.C events will be hosted at facilities known for fantastic racing.  In addition Utica Rome Speedway will be offering a special $3 discount to any spectators with an Oswego Speedway raincheck from the earlier R.o.C Asphalt Modified Tour 75.  Estimated travel time between the two facilities is only one hour.

Last year Lee Sherwood ended a long slump at Oswego Speedway by notching his first ever victory at the famed facility.  Sherwood made a late race pass over Sege Fidanza for the popular win.  Sherwood was followed across the line by Eric Beers, Fidanza, Wilbur Hebing and Earl Paules.  This years opening day Oswego 75 lapper should be another stellar event.

The traditional R.o.C Dirt Mothers Day event at Utica Rome last year saw eventual overall R.o.C Tour Champion Alan Johnson scoring the victory over Billy Decker, Tim Fuller, Bobby Varin and Stewart Friesen.  Johnson and Decker had a heated battle throughout the event with Johnson pulling away in the late stages.

Mark your calendars for a big Mothers Day Race of Champions double header day of racing.  For additional information please contact the R.o.C offices at (607) 775-5555 or log on to www.raceofchampions.net or www.rocdirt.com for more.
